Prince of no kingdom, heir to no throne. Hunted by the latter’s sorcerer’s and assassins, Ohacha is forced to flee his home after annexation by a foreign empire. Now, years later, he remains on the run; hunted.

Steered by his few remaining supporters, Ohacha is bound for the renowned gilded city; Caso. Their goal is simple: fill his family’s coffers and return home with an army capable of reclaiming his ancestral throne. But Caso is a city built on more than just gold. Caso has its own secrets, debts, and lethal political machinations. Caught in the crossfire amidst Caso’s ruling class and ever-expanding imperial influence, Ohacha is forced to reckon with the true currencies of power; that a good leader isn’t just a person that makes decisions. To survive, Ohacha must rely on his few remaining allies and mentors and consider what he is willing to sacrifice for his goal: his morality? his friends? his future?
